Hello Champs!
With the loss to the Hokies in the ACC Title game the Eagles also lost their chance to play Kansas in the Orange Bowl on January 3 of the new year. But Boston College did get a Bowl game this year, they will travel to Orlando to play the Michigan State Spartans in the Champs Sports Bowl on December 28. Not playing in the Orange Bowl is a crush to Boston College because they will lose out on the added revenue the Orange Bowl brings.
Over Friar-ed
Providence College turned out to be too much for the BC men's basketball team as PC cruised to a 98-89 victory on Saturday at the TD Banknorth Garden. The Eagles looked like Jekyll and Hyde in the game. After going into halftime down 15-points, the Eagles rebounded those lost 15-points in the second half to tie up the game and take it into overtime. But in overtime, the Eagles folded back into their first half ways and were outscored 22-13. Junior Tyrese Rice led the team with 25-points and 6 assists and sophomore Shamari Spears had 9 rebounds in the loss. But to take something positive out of the loss, half of the Eagles rebounds were offensive rebounds, meaning they were doing a good job at controlling the boards during the game.
Notes: Freshman Corey Raji also had 24-points and 7 rebounds with 6 of them offensive...Senior Tyrelle Blair fouled out of the game but before he did he collected four blocks...Freshman Rakim Sanders also fouled out of the game.
